Secure long-term investment to allow for the economic levelling up of our neighbourhood, putting local people at the heart of economic opportunities.

• £100,000 is provided to continue to support the community business sector to inhabit the space where the statutory and private sectors have failed/left.
• £150,000 funding to continue our current Community Business Support Worker role.
• Work with Hartlepool Borough Council (HBC) to secure the asset transfer of The Hartlepool Enterprise Centre to The Wharton Trust.
• Support from HBC to convene our anchor institutions to collectively adopt Community Wealth Building principles, leading to a campaign to help more money stay in the local economy and more local people to develop careers in the public sector.
• Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA) work with us to ensure that the people of Dyke House disproportionately benefit from the neighbouring Freeport and now launched Hartlepool Mayoral Development Corporation (HDC). Wharton Trust to be formally engaged in governance structures to facilitate this opportunity.
